Part of the 2.0 mission statement and initiatives include service projects. Member Kayla Thomas and Chair Jared Dusharm championed beginning this service philosophy at the 2014 Annual Conference in Orlando.
The group of professionals will package meals for children as part of the Hunger Project during the 2.0 meeting on July 31.
Feeding Children Everywhere is a non-profit organization that runs solely on donations. Their mission is to provide people with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on those affected by food shortages. This organization has offices in four continents and thirty states in the United States.
The 2.0 members attending this event will be assembling 5,000 meals in an hour. It only takes sixty minutes to help 5,000 people go to bed with a full belly. We even get the choice of where we want the food to be shipped. The food can either be distributed locally or internationally, a decision which can be made at the event. This truly is an amazing opportunity to help others and we are very excited that the 2.0 members have decided to take this project on.
